It's Decision Day!

I've clearly been bingeing Married At First Sight recently. It's one of my guilty pleasure shows and I was so glad they started putting them on Netflix even if I am a few seasons behind. We had ditched cable awhile back.
But back to matters at hand, as I'm sure you have seen by now - the time has come for Premier Collection members to decide whether they want a glossy or matte Cosimo or the full mane or braided mane Rowan. Members have until January 15th to make their selections.
The default options for members who don't choose before the deadline will be the matte Cosimo and the full mane stallion Rowan.
I've been keeping an eye on the comments sections and hobby polls because I'm always so curious to see which version will be the more rare and which will be the more popular and how will that affect things in the future like values and scarcity.
So far sentiment seems to be evenly split. Quite a few hobbyists are reporting that they bought two memberships to make sure they got both versions. Some others, if they only like one of the sculptures, are working on swapping the choice on the one they don't want for the second version on the one they do want.
Among those who are making the decision there does look to be a slight preference for the matte Cosimo and the long mane Rowan. Since those two are also the default options, it looks likely they will also be the more common in the future - if that sort of thing sways your decision at all. This is based on a poll of 386 memberships in the Facebook group Modelholics Anonymous, results below. Personally I think I slightly prefer the braided Rowan and the glossy Cosimo but I also caved and bought two subs so I could get both versions of both.
Glossy Cosimo | 41% | 159 |
Matte Cosimo | 59% | 227 |
Braided Rowan | 45% | 174 |
Loose Rowan | 55% | 212 |
I actually thought the glossy Cosimo would be more popular and I think that the photos may not be doing him justice. It is so hard to photograph glossy models (especially black ones) that I suspect he will be much more impressive in person. But the matte sure does look amazing in the photos. I love that the mane appears to be slightly satiny and his eye really pops more. The dapples appear much more prominent on the matte - that could be an illusion and it could also be good or bad. The "puzzle piece" dapples definitely got mixed reviews when Anamar was released but given their much more subtle nature on this piece I'm hopeful they'll be nice.
Just another reason I need both - I might not keep both, but I definitely will want to see them in person to decide! Since the Breyerfest surprise models and CCA glossies have become an annual occurrence, I have mostly been trying to stick with having either the matte or the glossy of a release, depending on my favorite. I sold my matte Carrick but I still have both matte and glossy Astrid because, well, I still can't choose.
