It's Reveal Season!

Real talk, I generally do not enjoy this time of year. The holidays are over but it's still very cold and dark for a few months but real life work is back to being busy and the chores won't do themselves so it all just feels like a grind. But! The new releases and the daily Breyerfest updates and reveals give me life! Looking forward to summer and fun really helps.
Let's start with the 2025 regular runs! Wow! It is certainly not like anything I was expecting. My first impression is that it is very heavy on decorator and unrealistic models. I counted just three new realistic traditional horses among the new models. Among them I love that they are doing a 30th Anniversary of Cloud release - he looks fabulous - and I'm super excited about Riptide! That one is definitely on my must-get list. I like to pick out my new RRs in person at Breyerfest because they usually have stacks and stacks of them that you can look through and I love handpicking.
As for these unrealistic models... I was not at all sure about the horsey silhouette pattern models for the 75th anniversary when I first saw them. It's a little weird for me. But they are growing on me. I'm probably going to have to see them in person to decide if I want any of them for sure.
I was very excited to see the Longhorn bull in the lineup! I have been missing have the other animals as regular runs, especially the cattle, and it's great to see a new one. The only other absolute must-have for me at the moment is Radiance, the 75th anniversary classic clearware arabian. I love all things clearware and she is gorgeous. I'm excited for many surprises in store for the year though with the anniversary on. It should be a fun one!
You can see and pre-order all the new releases on the Breyer website although I will plan to support my local dealers for the ones I don't want to handpick at BF for my show string.
Then it's on to the Breyerfest 2025 reveals so far! Ok, so, secretly I'm kind of glad they used almost all of "my" molds at BF last year. Plus if the tradition holds of using the prior year's Premier Club models as SRs, none of last year's PC releases were must-conga molds for me. All this "should" mean I'll be safe from having to track down all kinds of micro-runs on all my favorite molds. We shall see - but so far that is panning out.
The first two reveals are a black pinto Croi as one of the Special Runs and a chestnut Make a Wish/Justadream in the head-up mold version for a Limited Edition. They are both gorgeous and sure to be popular, but not anything I need yet (phew!). Although these aren't really the first two reveals of the year, the very first was the set of general admission event stablemates. We are back to realistic colors this year and these I absolutely adore and will be looking to get the full set. The only mini mold I don't collect there is the Andalusian but glossy dapple bay? Sold!
I have a sort of love-hate relationship with the VIP tickets but one of the big benefits has been that they have to reveal all of the special runs and limited editions before tickets go on sale! That makes this dark period of winter much more fun as we dream about July.
