Unboxing: Maddox!

My Maddox unexpectedly arrived today! I hadn't received a shipping notice and I didn't even see it come through on my UPS MyChoice so it was a complete surprise to find him on my doorstep.

Overall first impression, I love the color. Mine is a little bit more chicken-wirey with the dapples than I normally like, but from the few I've seen popping up online I do think there will be some nice variation in the level of dapple starkness.

On closer inspection mine unfortunately does have a number of flaws that would keep him out of my show string. He looks like he was knocked around a little bit at some point. Nothing hugely significant, and he's fine as a shelf model conga filler, but it is definitely enough in aggregate that he goes in my flawed bucket.
The question is - do I try for another one? He is still available and I have another account I could buy him on. It's a gamble and a risk. My other option (and probably most likely course of action) is to look for one at Breyerfest. That way I can ideally pick one out that I like and is relatively flawless. If I have to pay a bit more on the secondary market to get a nice one I don't mind.

Although the real question I should be asking is what am I even doing conga-ing this model?! LOL. When Altynai came out, I said to myself - ah, he's cool, but that's a no for me because he's so long and I'm done with long models. Well I had the opportunity to trade for Fields of Heather after BF 2020 and he's SO nice so I figured I could find a spot for one more long thing. Then in 2021 holo-Uffington came along and I absolutely ADORE that holographic paint, so I had to have him too. Sure enough I won a glossy Adamek at Breyerfest in 2022 and glossy bay is always my jam (honestly I probably would have looked to buy one if I hadn't won one, because he is also soooo nice). Now it seems I have a conga afterall so when I was drawn for Petra I decided to keep him (love the color) and here we are with Maddox.
Is this an inflection point where I say you know what, nevermind - I'm sticking with my three rarities and the rest can go. Or do I go full conga and try to gradually add the ones I am missing? I don't even have a permanent home for them on my shelves because I am out of spaces for long models!! Part of my shelf reorg project this year is find a place for them or get a deeper shelf unit to put somewhere. The Ikea Billys just aren't cutting it.
